FreePBX Pt. 10 of 10-Misc Benefits

Well, I’ve outlined the reasons I love my PBX for home use. Here are a few short bonuses.

1. Do not disturb. I can turn the phone off. The PBX still answers and takes messages, but I dont have to hear it. Good for Friday night to sleep in on Saturday morning.

2. Blacklist. Annoying repeated callers can be given a ‘This number is no longer in service.’ Annoying people can go directly to voicemail without ringing your phone.

3. Connect with VOIP people. People can easily connect to me who are on voice systems like FreeWorldDialup, Gizmo Project and it just rings my regular phones.

4. There is SO much you can do. Pretty much every feature you want is there. Give it a try. I’m sure you won’t go back to a regular system.

5. Number portability. I have had a phone number in Toronto for a year. I’ve lived in two different places (500km away) and still have the same number. Nice.
