FreePBX Money Savings Pt. 5 - Home Phone - $288 savings!
Posted by admin on October 31st, 2007 filed in TechnologyI love my PBX at home. Here’s another reason.
Home Phone Savings.
I’m using Callcentric for my incoming calls. $5.95 in Canada for an incoming line, caller ID, call waiting, and two INCOMING calls at the same time. Unlimited incoming calls.
Bell charges $29 for a basic line with caller ID. So we are looking at $24 a month or $288 a year saved. Yes, Bell gives you unlimited outgoing local calls, which I don’t have. But at rates of about 1-2¢ a minute for outgoing calls, I can make about 20-40 hours of calls for that price, which I don’t.
Oh ya, because CallCentric has two channels that means if I call comes in for me, I answer it. If a second call comes in for my wife when I am on the line, any other phone in the house rings and she answers it and we both make our own calls. Likewise, if she is on the phone with a talkative person, I pick up another phone (which has a dial tone on it) and make my phone call from it. No need to kick someone off the phone.
Much more useful than a regular phone.
