Savings from Asterisk/FreePBX Pt. 2 of 10 - The IVR

I really like my FreePBX system. A lot.
Second Reason - IVR
When someone calls my house, they get a recording and can press 1 for me or 2 for my wife. Simple enough. Only AFTER they have chosen do I hear the phone ring.
If someone has called the wrong number, they hang up.
If a telemarketer calls, they assume its an answering machine, and they hang up.
The next cool part is that when they do make their choice the CallerID is modified by putting a little “D-” in front the name if it is for me, and it even rings differently if it is for me. We can tell who the phone is for right away.
Ah, to avoid answering the phone when it is a chatty in-law… How can I put a price on that?
