Admin as managers - How to succeed as a teacher -

Administrators are not trained as managers.
Yes, they take a little course, but most of these people lack management skills, people skills, project management skills, common sense, and most importantly, financial skills.
How many times during the years did the ‘budgets run dry?’ If it keeps happening, you don’t know how to make a budget! This year our departments budget ‘ran low’ after a few months, and then ran out partway through the school year. In talking with the other members of the department, I discovered that no one had made any purchases at all. Yes somehow the budget runs low, and then runs out. Another of life’s great mysteries I’ll never solve.
Solution for a teacher… Well, as the saying goes “If life gives you lemons…. shut up and drink your damn lemonade.” But seriously, learn how to deal with that person in a way that causes the least amount of disruption to your life. If they are helpful, work with them. If they cause more trouble from you, minimize the amount of contact you have with them.
