Tell us what you think - How to succeed as a teacher

Tell us what you think - trick question.
Initially when I started in teaching, I did freelance writing as well. I would do supply teaching and wrote for teacher’s magazines since this allowed me to visit a different school every day and see what sort of initiatives they were doing (very few) and to talk to other teachers and finally, write up my story at lunch. When I introduced my self to the administration in the morning and mentioned that I also wrote for a certain magazine they would ask ‘Well, how does our school compare with XXX school in behaviour/involvement/achievement, etc’ Now, in my work with efficiency, I was paid to be honest. Schools hated it. If I mentioned that any factors were better - great. If I mentioned any factors that were worse, they would be furious. My answer now ‘This is one of the best schools I have ever been to.’
The solution: Tell us what you think means tell us you agree with us… Applies to staff meetings, committees, ideas from administration, etc.
